A new like this can’t go unnoticed for us of Comodo.it! A sprightly eighty-year-old of Carpenedolo (BS), Mr. Amatore Bolzoni, entered by rights in the “Guinness World Record” thanks to an unusual collection which gathers more than 2.400 unusual condoms. We heard him, as a guest in a well-known tv talk show, speaking with passion about his condom collection. Moved by curiosity we went to know him in person, we met him in his house and he told us how all is begun.
Mr. Bolzoni is a collecting fan even if it is necessary to jump back of twenty years to understand his strange choice, justified by a sort of goliardy, a kind of challenge launched by his friends who, after several steins of beer and after they have seen a condom vending machine inside a public bathroom, they spurred him to collect them. No sooner said than done, Amatore Bolzoni mobilizes acquaintances and friends who bring him pieces from all over the world.
A New York marathon, run in the rearguard side by side with a pharmacist from Bufalo, gave him the opportunity to increase remarkably his collection: going in the back of the pharmacy of his friend from Bufalo he bought rare American condoms of 1800 made of sheep bowel.
“The first times – confesses Bolzoni – it needs a little cheek to join the collectors fairs. Twenty years later my participation is highly regarded and sought-after”. A sign that times are changed!
The record hunt is helped by the lack of competitors too in fact only a Greek and a Californian give him battle. In Italy on the contrary Bolzoni declares to be in a country made by religiose persons, it’s different abroad, he says, they are more open-minded. In fact, just from the foreign countries arrive many of his memorabilia.  It’s thanks to his customers and to his son which come back from their trips always with a condom as souvenir. The theme is funny but our record holder takes advantage from this opportunity to make a little social denunciation: Times are changing in here too but in Italy there are still too much sexual taboos.

Bolzoni lately bought an Arabian condom impossible to find which upgrades his collection of 2.400 pieces, but he promises to reach 3000 pieces within the year. An hard challenge: good luck, Amatore!
